David Gonzalez is on a mission. The mission is to ensure that Florida Virtual School hires and retains only the best and most motivated employees. From professional experience and personal pride, he knows what it takes to be the best.
Mr. Gonzalez is a U.S. Army veteran with a distinguished thirty-year career. Although he retired from the service, he was not ready to retire from making a difference in people’s lives. His objective was to find a team-oriented organization that offered high-quality instruction with a customer-service approach. Mr. Gonzalez found that the pride and teamwork he experienced in the service was matched by the unity of spirit found at FLVS.
As a FLVS human resource technician, Mr. Gonzalez is responsible for ensuring that all potential employees have the necessary qualifications, and that all hiring procedures are properly followed. His own qualifications for his position more than provide the needed knowledge and skills.
During Mr. Gonzalez’ years in the service, he received extensive instruction in military schools that included Ranger School, Airborne School, Jungle Warfare, Arctic Training, Desert Training, and Instructor Training. He is a graduate of the Sergeants Major Academy, among many others. During the last twenty years of his military career, Mr. Gonzalez served as a recruiter who understood the rules and regulations, understood his recruits, and performed his duties with great integrity.
Mr. Gonzalez earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies/Geography from the University of Southern Connecticut. He believes that his tour of duty with FLVS will provide many additional opportunities to serve.
