Gillian Stewart Gregory

Instructional Leader
Florida Virtual School

Gillian Gregory has fashioned a comprehensive career as a teacher, administrator, and educational policy analyst.  Regardless, however, of the specific assignment, Ms. Gregory has always made being a committed educator her highest priority.

As an instructional leader at Florida Virtual School, Ms. Gregory directs her knowledge and experience toward supporting the success of her staff and the needs of her school’s students.  She says, “The single most satisfying aspect of leading is providing teachers with the opportunity to teach and students with the opportunity to learn.”  Her ability to provide individual help, guidance and motivation is a hallmark of her leadership style.

Ms. Gregory began her career as a teacher in Broward County Public Schools.  She went on to become a reading coach and a school administrator.  Before joining FLVS, Ms. Gregory served as a legislative policy analyst for the Florida Legislature’s Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability.  In that capacity, she was involved in projects relating to teacher compensation and attrition, as well as student programs and services such as Exceptional Student Education and Gifted.

Ms. Gregory’s decision to join FLVS was prompted by her belief that FLVS is an organization genuinely committed to student success.  She was also attracted by FLVS’ reputation as a national leader in the delivery on online instruction.

Ms. Gregory earned her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University.  Her undergraduate degree in History with a minor in Education was awarded by the University of Florida.  She also had the opportunity as a high school student to attend classes at Broward Community College in a dual enrollment program.  Ms. Gregory is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Florida State University.
