Curriculum Services Project Manager Florida Virtual School
Julie Bailey believes that every student is unique, and that when schools recognize their students’ uniqueness they will be successful. She also believes that Florida Virtual School is uniquely positioned to answer the needs of students with individualized instruction provided by caring teachers using technologies that are second nature to our students.
Ms. Bailey brings a wealth of experience to her job at FLVS. She has directed the implementation of mediated learning in corporate and higher education settings. At GE, she was a multimedia team leader helping to create training and development programs. At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she was the manager of interactive media at the Lighting Research Center providing courseware to students and professionals interested in learning about light and lighting. Most recently, at Florida Keys Community College she established the college’s virtual campus and provided leadership for the design, implementation, and support of academic technology services for faculty and students.
At FLVS, Ms. Bailey coordinates the work of curriculum development teams. Her hands-on approach to project management ensures that schedules are met and that the results are of the highest quality. Her work is also marked by a desire to serve the needs of all students, regardless of their interests, learning style, or prior academic success.
Ms. Bailey is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Learning and Knowledge Management Systems from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree is in Management, and an Associates degree is in Graphic Design. She has had training in Instructional Design, Flash Animation, 3D Animation, and Design for Six Sigma, a problem solving methodology used for designing quality into the development of products and services. Ms. Bailey’s ultimate goal at FLVS is to combine all of her background and training in a way that continues her school’s excellence in providing effective and engaging student learning experiences resulting in student achievement.
