Before moving to Florida, she served as a payroll supervisor for a Southern California public utility. Because of the utility’s size, its 12,000 employees, and its multiple subsidiary companies, Ms. Warnick’s challenges were many and diverse. Prior to that, she managed the utility’s short-term liquidity portfolio, making daily investments that totaled as much as $750 million.
The opportunity to begin a new challenge was among Ms. Warnick’s reasons for joining the Florida Virtual School management team. Her new position as payroll manager reflects her school’s dynamic growth. The decision to make payroll an in-house function reflects her school’s desire for a personal connection with its employees. Ms. Warnick earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. She holds a Certified Payroll Professional certification in Payroll Administration and Compliance, awarded in 2006 by the American Payroll Association.
