General

Florida Virtual School employees supporting Florida Scholars Academy demonstrate a positive attitude, provide excellent customer service, exhibit a growth mindset, focus on connecting with students, and collaborate with colleagues on best practices to serve students.

Onsite operational hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Instruction

• Florida Scholars Academy instructional team members are required to be at the facilities for in-person instruction and to actively participate in professional learning, teaming activities, and sharing job responsibilities with colleagues.
• All certified staff must have Highly Qualified status. Candidates will need to provide documentation supporting Highly Qualified Teacher Status. 
• Certified staff may be required to obtain certification in multiple subject areas.
• Employees should respond to email and phone messages within 24 hours. Grading should be completed within 48-72 hours of submission.
• FLVS employees supporting FSA will need to demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency in managing multiple computer programs while working with high-risk students, often simultaneously.

Support Staff

• Depending on the role, Support Staff team members may be remote and/or in-person.
• Work schedule will depend on the Support Staff role.
• Certain positions, such as Instructional Leaders and Regional Directors, have an 80% travel expectation.
