FLVS homeschoolers Isabella (left) and Scarlett (right) Wish are showing their community the power of believing in yourself and turning ideas into action, one delicious loaf at a time.
Editor's Note: This post is part of a series of posts recognizing the accomplishments of FLVS students during the 2025-26 school year.
Using the economic savvy and industry insights they picked up in their FLVS Social Studies class, sisters Scarlett and Isabella Wish, from Loxahatchee, turned an optional worksheet into a full-blown business adventure. Inspired by the challenge to create their own business, these young entrepreneurs didn’t just dream; they did. With bold hearts and birthday money in hand, they invested in supplies and ingredients, ready to bake up something special.
Armed with a solid business plan and a sprinkle of marketing magic at their local jiu-jitsu gym, the girls launched “The Bread Basket” — a homemade sourdough bread business based on a cherished family recipe. What started as a class project quickly rose (pun intended!) into a community favorite. To date, they've sold over 150 loaves to their neighbors, proving that with a little courage, a lot of heart, and a dash of flour, anything is possible.
