Are you ready to challenge yourself, boost your college applications, and earn college credit – all from the comfort of your home? At Florida Virtual School (FLVS), we have a wide range of Advanced Placement® (AP®) courses, which are available to students in grades 9-12 in both our individual courses (FLVS Flex) and Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools (FLVS Full Time) options.
We offer more than 20 AP courses, giving students across the state the opportunity to take accelerated courses that interest them and allow them to challenge themselves. This has been especially helpful for students who don’t have access to a specific AP course in their brick-and-mortar school and can take the course online with FLVS.

Math Marvels: AP Calculus, Precalculus, and Statistics
If you’re passionate about numbers, FLVS offers advanced math courses to take your skills to the next level, including:
AP Precalculus – Strengthen your algebra and trigonometry foundation while preparing for college-level math.
AP Calculus AB – Dive into differential and integral calculus. This course is perfect for students who enjoy solving complex equations and want a solid foundation in calculus.

Dreaming of a future in tech? FLVS offers two AP courses to help you build a strong coding and problem-solving foundation:
AP Computer Science A – Develop the skills to write programs and solve problems using the Java programming language. These skills will help you create understandable, adaptable, and reusable programs.
AP Computer Science Principles – Learn the concepts and challenges of computer science, as well as its impact on society, while stretching your creativity and problem-solving skills.

AP Spanish Language & Culture (FLVS Flex only) - This course promotes fluency and cultural understanding through thematic units and encourages communication in interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes.
AP Capstone: AP Seminar and AP Research
Looking for a unique academic challenge that enhances your research and presentation skills? FLVS Flex offers the AP Capstone program to help high school students entering their sophomore or junior year strengthen their college applications and develop strong research and writing skills for success in college and beyond.
After completing the courses, students may earn their AP Capstone Diploma™ or AP Seminar and Research Certificate from the College Board. For more information, students should speak to their school of record or local home education office, as FLVS Flex does not issue diplomas.
AP Seminar (year 1) - Develop critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills by analyzing real-world topics from multiple perspectives.
AP Research (year 2) - Take your inquiry to the next level by designing, conducting, and presenting an independent research project on the topic of your choice.

AP Exam
Once you’ve done the work and taken the AP course, it’s time to earn college credit. At the end of the school year, you can take AP Exams at your zoned high school.
