How it works

How It Works

Our trusted team of certified teachers and counselors provide individualized instruction and advisement services to help you navigate your educational journey. Based on the Florida State Standards, our courses are taught by teachers who provide personalized instruction and 1:1 support via phone, email, and text. During interactive live video lessons, students receive direct instruction, collaborate with classmates, and participate in activities.

With an online curriculum that powers learning with real-life applications, FLVS courses provide engaging and interactive content, ensuring you know the material before moving forward. For students who want to get ahead and earn college credit, AP and dual enrollment opportunities are available. See how high school students who have taken a course with FLVS are taking learning to new limits and have performed higher than the state average on End-of-Course and AP exams.

Student Clubs & Activities

Student Clubs & Activities

FLVS offers more than 20 high school clubs and organized student activities that meet both online and face to face. These extracurricular opportunities can help high school students prepare for college and careers and are available to all FLVS students, including our award-winning Newspaper Club, Creative Writing Club, Yearbook Club, Coding Club, STEAM/Science Club, and Future Business Leaders of America – just to name a few!

In our clubs, students meet online to plan events, collaborate on projects, play games, hear from guest speakers, and more. Our clubs allow students to develop leadership skills, engage in community service opportunities, and in some cases, even attend in-person gatherings or academic competitions. Throughout the year, our teachers and staff host special events and celebrations for students, including Celebrate Literacy Week, World Fest, Spirit Week, Shakespeare Fest, and college and career exploration opportunities. FLVS also holds an in-person graduation ceremony so seniors enrolled in our full-time public high school can celebrate this important moment with their families.
