Judith Marte

As chief financial officer, Judith Marte is helping guide the financial strategy and operational stewardship of Florida Virtual School (FLVS) and FlexPoint, the national arm of FLVS that serves schools and districts nationwide. In her role, Marte oversees Financial & Treasury Services, Benefits and Compensation, Enrollment Grants, Procurement, Sales Operations, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance, ensuring the organization maintains strong fiscal management, operational efficiency, and financial transparency.

As a member of the executive leadership team, Marte plays a critical role in supporting the organization's long-term financial stability and strategic growth. Her responsibilities span budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and resource planning, helping position the organization to continue delivering high-quality online learning opportunities for students throughout Florida and beyond.

Marte brings more than 30 years of experience in school finance and educational administration, with a career dedicated to supporting public education through sound financial leadership. Before joining FLVS, she served Broward County Public Schools for six years as deputy superintendent of finance and operations and chief financial officer. Before that, she spent 15 years with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where she held several leadership positions, including chief financial officer and deputy chief financial officer.

Earlier in her career, Marte led business operations for Lawrence Public Schools in Lawrence, Massachusetts, overseeing financial and operational functions during a period of organizational growth and change. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation for combining strategic financial planning with a deep commitment to student success and organizational accountability.

A respected leader within the school finance profession, Marte has served on the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), including as vice chair of its Budget Committee. She is also a longtime member of the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS), an active member of the Florida School Finance Officers Association, and a frequent speaker at national conferences, sharing expertise in school finance, budgeting, and operational best practices.

With decades of experience leading financial operations for some of the nation's largest school systems, Marte continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization remains financially strong, accountable, and well-positioned to support the evolving needs of students, families, and educational partners.
