Robin Winder
As the chief academic officer for Florida Virtual School (FLVS), Robin Winder leads academic strategy and instructional operations for one of the nation’s most experienced and innovative K–12 online education providers. FLVS provides a comprehensive, award-winning curriculum to public, private, charter, and homeschool families and school districts nationwide.
Winder oversees FLVS Full Time and FLVS Flex, Virtual Learning Labs, Blended Learning Communities, FlexPoint Virtual School, and all instructional lines of business, including the Florida Scholars Academy (FSA).
In 2023, Winder led the launch of Florida’s first unified school district for students served by the Department of Juvenile Justice, establishing governance, policies, instructional structures, and staffing for 2,300 learners statewide.
Winder also oversees Analysis, Assessment, and Accountability (AAA); Exceptional Student Education (ESE); school safety and mental health; federal programs; student support services; academic integrity; literacy initiatives; tutoring; ESOL; and parent engagement. She works with instructional leaders to ensure consistent quality standards and equitable learning experiences across all programs.
As a member of the president/CEO’s executive team, Winder contributes to organizational strategy, long‑term planning, and statewide delivery of digital learning programs that serve hundreds of thousands of students annually.
Winder began her career in 1992 as a world geography teacher in Orange County Public Schools and joined FLVS in 2003 as a social studies instructor. Over more than two decades, she has served as academic integrity manager, instructional mentor, instructional leader, and senior director of student learning, helping shape FLVS into a national model for virtual education. She continues to champion innovative approaches that expand student access, improve outcomes, and reimagine what public education can look like.
