The Florida Virtual School® (FLVS) Board of Trustees (BOT) elected BOT Member Robert Gidel, Sr. as its new chairman on June 13, 2017. Gidel steps into the position, effective immediately, following a two-year term of Board Chair by Dr. Dhyana Ziegler. Ziegler will remain on the BOT as a member.

Enrollment Now Open for Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools Ahead of 2026–27 Academic Year

Enrollment for Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools (FLVS Full Time) opens June 1 for the 2026–27 school year and is open to Florida students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Families can apply through July 17. Early submission is encouraged due to the limited window. Classes begin August 19.

Nearly 1,500 students graduated from Florida Virtual High School (FVHS) on May 29, forming the largest graduating class in the school's history. More than half, 56%, earned academic distinction, achieving grade point averages above 3.5.
