Florida Virtual School Teacher of the Year Honored with Prestigious USDLA Award
Florida Virtual School (FLVS), a statewide online public school district, is proud to announce that one of its teachers, Lisa Fabulich, was honored with the prestigious Excellence in Teaching/Training award by The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA). The award was presented at the 2019 International Distance Learning Awards show at the 2019 National Conference in Nashville, TN. The award is presented annually to organizations and individuals engaged in the development and delivery of distance learning programs.

Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools - Application Deadline Extended
As families continue to evaluate their education options for the upcoming school year, Florida Virtual School (FLVS) has extended the application deadline for the full time option. The deadline is July 19 for students in ninth through 12th grades. The deadline for students in kindergarten through eighth grades is July 26.

Florida Scholars Academy Celebrates the Launch of the New Unified Education System for Juvenile Justice Youth
On Monday, July 1, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Florida Virtual School (FLVS) announced that the Florida Scholars Academy (FSA), the new unified education system for DJJ students, is operational across Florida. The partnership between DJJ and FLVS will now provide in-person instruction for students within all 44 DJJ residential commitment programs.

Florida Virtual School Launches 12 New Online Courses for Middle and High School Students
Florida Virtual School (FLVS) is launching 12 new online courses to ensure students have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in college and the workforce. From Foundations of Machine Learning, the final course in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) program of study, to world language courses like Chinese 4 Honors, and more, the goal of each new course is to give students more choice in what and how they like to learn so they can discover their passions and interests.
