Enrollment for Florida Virtual Full Time Public Schools is Now Open Through Nov. 9
November 1, 2023
As Florida families continue to consider their children’s education options, Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Full Time Public Schools enrollment is now open for the second semester of the 2023-24 school year. With FLVS Full Time Public School, students in Kindergarten-12th grade experience a supportive environment that combines the flexibility of online learning with the structure of a traditional 180-day school calendar. Open enrollment is slated to run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 9.
Research continues to show that parents want more education options for their children, with many turning to online learning because of the flexibility and support it provides. In fact, according to the Florida Virtual School 2022-23 Student and Parent Survey, 91% of parents felt that FLVS was the best learning experience for their child and 96.2% would recommend the virtual school.
"Our Full Time Public Schools provide students with a high-quality, flexible, and personalized education," said Robin Winder, Chief Academic Officer for Florida Virtual School. "In addition, with more than 190 engaging online courses, one-to-one support from Florida certified teachers and school counselors, and over 60 clubs from cooking to coding, it is our mission to ensure students have the tools and guidance they need to succeed, no matter where they are or what their educational goals may be.”
FLVS Full Time Public School courses are taught by state-certified teachers using a curriculum developed specifically for the online learning environment to facilitate student success. As with a traditional school, students take six courses per semester and earn their diploma upon meeting graduation requirements. Students have access to more than 190 courses including core, electives/specials, world languages, Advanced Placement, and Career and Technical Education - all tuition-free for Florida residents. Additionally, students can take advantage of the flexible, self-paced learning options where they can make new friends and connect with other students who share the same interests.
Alternatively, students looking to incorporate one or more individual online courses as part of their education plan for the second semester can enroll in FLVS Flex year-round.
Families interested in enrolling in FLVS Full Time Public School can do so during the open enrollment period, which runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 9, 2023. To learn more about all school options, including FLVS Full Time Public School, please visit the school options page on our website.
