Florida Virtual School (FLVS) provides a robust, award-winning curriculum to public, private, charter, and homeschool families and school districts nationwide.
ORLANDO, Fla. (Sep. 9, 2024) — For the second year in a row, Florida Virtual School (FLVS) has been named on the Forbes list of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024 for Florida. This award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
"We're honored to be recognized once again as one of Florida’s Best In-State Employers by Forbes,” said Dr. Louis Algaze, president and CEO of Florida Virtual School. “We foster a culture of excellence and innovation and prioritize the satisfaction of our 3,500+ team members who serve more than 235,000 students each year.”
The recognition comes just weeks after FLVS was named the Orlando Business Journal’s 2024 “Best Places to Work” in the giant category, for companies with more than 500 Central Florida employees.
The Forbes list is based primarily on an independent survey of more than 160,000 employees working for companies with at least 500 employees within the United States. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. About 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered. Survey participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to 10. Respondents were also asked to evaluate employers they’d worked for within the past two years and organizations they knew within their industry or through friends or family who worked there. Responses were tallied and incorporated into a scoring system, and the organizations that received the highest scores in each state made the rankings.
“With a strong culture, flexible work options, comprehensive benefits, and a shared passion for student success, FLVS is an exceptional place to work,” said Katerina Alfaro Lopez, senior director, Human Resources & Operations. “Because of this, FLVS has an impressive 94% overall employee retention rate.”
