Florida Virtual School (FLVS) named Citrus eSchool and Volusia Online Learning its 2026 Franchise of the Year winners, recognizing the schools for excellence in online education and service to students and families across Florida.
The FLVS Franchise of the Year Award recognizes County Virtual Schools that demonstrate excellence in instruction, communication, student support, and customer service while exemplifying FLVS core values and best practices. FLVS supports 32 County Virtual School franchises statewide.
“Citrus eSchool and Volusia Virtual School exemplify the excellence and student-centered approach that define our County Virtual School network,” said Larry Banks, senior director of Partner Services at FLVS. “We are pleased to recognize them as this year's Franchise of the Year recipients."
Citrus eSchool earned the award in the Small District category, while Volusia Online Learning received the honor in the Large District category. The awards were presented during the annual FLVS County Virtual Schools meeting in Orlando in June.
"Receiving the FLVS Franchise of the Year Award is a testament to the hard work, innovation, and student-centered focus of our teachers, staff, and administrators," said Anthony Serianni, principal of Volusia Online Learning. "Our team is passionate about providing high-quality virtual learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of students while helping them build confidence, achieve academic success, and prepare for their future.”
"This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire Citrus eSchool team and the strong partnerships we have built with our students and families," said Jenna Mullins, principal of Citrus eSchool. "In addition, we have now earned an 'A' school grade for the third year in a row. These accomplishments are a testament to this collective effort. We are committed to creating a supportive online learning environment where we can provide high-quality, flexible course options for our local Citrus County students.”"
FLVS County Virtual Schools are led by district educators who provide online instruction using FLVS’ curriculum, technology platforms, and instructional resources. FLVS supports partner districts through ongoing training, mentorship, and operational guidance to help expand high-quality online learning opportunities for students throughout Florida.
