Teacher and Principal Training and Recruitment
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 reauthorized the Dwight D. Eisenhower Grant and Class Size Reduction of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 as Title II, Part A – Teacher and Principal Training and Recruitment. This entitlement grant has been developed to prepare, train and recruit high-quality teachers and principals.
Through its professional development programs, Title II-A supports Title I initiatives in addressing the needs of the at-risk student population by training teachers and principals in areas that promote best practices in teaching, securing researched based training materials, and focused training in core subject areas.
