FLVS Offers the Learner’s License Exam for Free
By: Florida Virtual School
Did you know that Florida Virtual School (FLVS) students can take the Florida learner’s license exam for free after completing our Driver Education course?
This comprehensive course teaches students the rules of the road while also fulfilling the state’s Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course licensing requirement. Upon completion, students earn half a high school elective credit, may qualify for insurance discounts, and can access “behind-the-wheel training” in many counties through the Florida Safety Council.
What will students learn?
During the course, students learn:
Real-world driving knowledge: Through simulated driving activities, students gain practical experience.
Traffic signs and laws: Understanding how to read traffic signs and the laws that govern our roads.
Safe driving techniques and skills: Essential skills for collision avoidance and safe driving in various conditions.
Diverse driving environments: How to navigate different types of roads and weather conditions.
After passing the online exam, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) will be notified. Students must visit their local license office to obtain a learner's license. The FLHSMV website includes a checklist of the documents students need to obtain their learner’s license.
