Steps to Receive Your Hunter Safety and Boater Education ID Cards

Hunting

Hunter Safety Card

  • Complete the Outdoor Education course, including each timed hunting lesson as required by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission before moving forward in the hunter safety lesson sequence
  •  Earn a score of 80 percent or higher on:
    • All hunting module quizzes
    • Virtual Field Day and Virtual Range Day lessons and quizzes
    • Hunter Safety module exam
  • Upon completion of state requirements, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) will mail your Florida Hunter Safety Card
  • Once you receive your Hunter Safety Card, you can separately order, purchase, and have your Florida Hunter’s License mailed to you
Boating

Boater Education ID

  • Complete the Outdoor Education course, including each timed boating lesson as required by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission before moving forward in the lesson sequence
  • Earn a score of 70 percent or higher on all quizzes to be permitted to take the certification exam
  • Earn a score of 80 percent or higher on certification exam
  • Confirm your proper mailing address in your student profile. Your Florida Boater Education ID Card will be mailed to you 4-5 weeks upon completing the course

Please note that students must be at least 12 years old to enroll in Outdoor Education.
