Aspiring scientists of all ages are invited to participate in the FLVS Virtual Science Fair.

The FLVS Science National Honor Society is proud to sponsor an International "Virtual Science Fair." Are you wanting to receive a certificate of participation to include in your academic portfolio? Are you a young scientist in the making? Certificates and prizes will be awarded in each of the following academic levels: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 Possible Areas of Research: Astronomy, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Earth Science, Electronics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Marine Science

Q.  What do I need to do if I want to participate?

Q.  What are the deadline dates?

A. Here are the important dates!

December 19:  Email stating your intent to participate and the area of science you will be representing.  In the subject line, please put: 2019 Science Fair and include the following information in the email.

1. Student Name (First, Last)
2. Email address to receive communication
3. FLVS Full Time or FLVS Flex
4. Current grade level and age
5. Current Science instructor if you are taking science course
6. Current Science course Name
7. Possible topic of choice

January  10:  Formal application made stating the title of the project.

January 31:  Virtual presentation deadline submission date. 

(Virtual presentation can be a power point, YouTube video, or Prezi (from a private account).  Other forms of presentations will be considered.

February 14:  Winners Announced

Q.  Is there a rubric available to help us guide our efforts?

A. Yes. The rubric will be made available from the club sponsor.

Q.  Is there any help available?

A.   Yes.  All students will have the opportunity to submit their work for peer review up to two different times. The FLVS SNHS members will look at the experiment at whatever stage it is submitted and give out some helpful pointers.

Q.  What type of prizes and awards will be given?

A. All students that participate will receive a certificate of participation to include in their portfolio.  Those that receive 1st-3rd place and Honorable Mention within their academic level will also receive a prize.  Prizes will be announced at a later date.
