Florida Virtual School Ranked No. 2 Among Central Florida Top Workplaces in 2026
October 5, 2026

Members of the FLVS leadership team accept the Orlando Sentinel's 2026 Top Workplaces award Oct. 2 in Orlando.
Florida Virtual School (FLVS) has been named the No. 2 Central Florida Top Workplace by the Orlando Sentinel, for organizations with more than 500 team members. In addition, FLVS President and CEO Sam Verghese received a specialty award in recognition of the organization's confidence in his leadership.
These recognitions are a direct reflection of team members' feedback and add to the growing list of workplace honors, marking the organization's second major employee-driven recognition in just a few weeks. In September, the organization was named the No. 1 Remote Work Top Workplace for 2026.
Employee feedback was collected through a third-party survey that measures workplace experience, including leadership, flexibility, employee engagement, communication, and growth opportunities. With more than 60% of team members participating, the results reflect broad input from across the organization and provide an authentic measure of the employee experience.
For FLVS, these back-to-back honors highlight a commitment to providing team members with the resources, support, and flexibility needed to succeed while keeping the student at the center of every decision.
"Our team members are at the heart of our success, and their dedication to serving students and families continues to strengthen our impact across Florida," said Verghese. “This recognition reflects the exceptional people and purpose-driven culture that set FLVS apart. We are proud to cultivate a culture that attracts exceptional talent and empowers our team to do their best work every day.”
FLVS invests in team member success from day one through comprehensive onboarding, ongoing professional development, and opportunities for career growth. All team members also have access to hundreds of professional learning opportunities, mentorship programs, leadership development initiatives, educational assistance, and an annual learning conference designed to support continuous growth.
The organization prioritizes employee well-being through competitive benefits, wellness initiatives, financial well-being resources, and generous time off. Maintaining regular employee recognition programs, encouraging in-person team gatherings, and providing ongoing opportunities for feedback further strengthen a culture of connection, appreciation, and engagement.
This Central Florida recognition is an annual program by the Orlando Sentinel that honors outstanding workplace culture in the region. These workplaces support team member success while providing an environment where they feel valued, connected, and engaged.
