Florida Virtual High School Class of 2024 graduates
ORLANDO, Fla. (May 23, 2024) — 1,163 students received their high school diploma from Florida Virtual High School (FVHS) yesterday, May 22, surrounded by thousands of their peers, family members, and friends. More than half of this year’s graduating class have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher, exceeding the national average of 3.0. The ceremony was held at the University of Central Florida’s Addition Financial Arena in Orlando.
Florida Virtual High School (FVHS) is a fully virtual public school serving students in Florida.
2024 Class President Jett James Pruitt addressed his classmates during the ceremony, which was live-streamed.
“Many of you in the audience today are world-class athletes, actors, dancers, singers, writers, builders, inventors, entrepreneurs, and volunteers, and others just needed to stay close to home for family, health, or academic reasons,” said Pruitt. “But together, our collective choice to attend virtual high school was a bold one — one that instilled immeasurable maturity, responsibility, and independent learning skills that will stay with us far into adulthood.”
FVHS Principal Suzanna Pacheco challenged the graduates to embrace all that life has to offer as they move into adulthood. “As you stand on the threshold of a new beginning, remember that the paths ahead are vast and varied,” said Pacheco. “Each of you holds the key to unlocking your potential and shaping your future. Embrace the uncertainties with courage and determination, for it is through challenges that we discover our inner strength.”
During the ceremony, FLHS staff bestowed several awards and honors upon deserving students, recognizing their exceptional academic achievements, leadership qualities, and contributions to the statewide online school community. These accolades serve as a testament to the students' dedication and the unwavering support provided by the FVHS faculty and staff.
