Florida Virtual School Places Among Top School Districts in the State for Progress Monitoring and End-of-Course Assessments
ORLANDO, Fla. (July 31, 2024) — Florida Virtual School (FLVS) full time students placed among the best in the state on the Florida Assessments of Student Thinking (FAST) progress monitoring and End-of-Course (EOC) assessments for 2023-24 school year. These scores place FLVS Full Time Public Schools in the top 10 non-lab school districts in the state for all core subject areas, which include English Language Arts (ELA), U.S. History, Biology 1, Algebra 1, and Civics.

Full Time students' scores placed FLVS:
Among the top three school districts for English Language Arts (ELA), 66% of students in grades three through 10 scored on or above grade level.
Among the top five school districts for the U.S. History EOC assessment, 78% of students performed on or above grade level for the second year in a row.
Among the top five school districts for the Biology 1 EOC assessment, 79% of students performed on or above grade level.
Among the top seven school districts for the grades 9-12 Algebra 1 EOC assessment, 60% of students performed on or above grade level.
Among the top 10 school districts for the Civics EOC assessment, 79% of students performed at or above Level 3, a 10 percentage point increase from 2023.
FLVS Full Time courses are taught by state-certified teachers using a curriculum developed specifically for the online learning environment to facilitate student success. Students take six courses per semester and earn their diploma upon meeting the graduation requirements. Students have access to more than 200 courses, including Core, Electives, World Languages, Advanced Placement, and Career and Technical Education.
Students looking to incorporate one or more individual online courses as part of their education plan for the second semester can enroll in FLVS Flex year-round.
